16-SESSION INDIVIDUAL PSYCHOTHERAPY
If you are interested in psychotherapy, but wish to have a short-term, time-limited approach:
I am currently offering a 16-session program of therapy for a few individuals. This program is part of a model of psychotherapy called AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy), and this short-term approach is part of an effort in the AEDP community to study the process of rapid change based on intense focus for the therapist and client.

The idea behind short-term therapy is that when the therapist and client are both aware that the work will be short-term, what most needs attention arises immediately, and significant change can be accomplished quickly. The therapist helps the client to maintain a strong focus on what most needs healing and repair.

After the 16 sessions are completed, some clients may wish to return at a future date for another cycle of work, and this is a possibility in this model; short-term therapy does not mean you may not return again!

Clients who wish to take part in the 16-session model must agree to my video-recording our sessions for the purpose of my study of this approach and to share with a consultation group who are also practicing short-term therapy.

I am committed to making the most of our time together. My stance as a therapist, whether in short- or long-term psychotherapy, is that change is possible from the very first session. In my work, I do not passively sit back while you tell me about the events of your week. I am active and engaged, focusing our exploration on the growing edge of your experience with acceptance and warmth, allowing the image of what is possible for you to begin to come into view.
Please feel free to reach out to me if you are interested in this short-term model.
